THE GARDEN is tucked beside the tranquil Poniel Burn and surrounded by the breathtaking Lanarkshire countryside, The Garden at Folkerton Mill offers a beautifully natural setting for your ceremony. The charming wooden bridge and historic iron water wheel add an authentic rustic touch, creating a truly romantic backdrop for your vows and photographs.

THE HAY BARN overlooks the estate with breathtaking views of the South Lanarkshire countryside, the Hay Barn beautifully blends rustic charm with versatility. Retaining many of its original features, this character-filled space offers a blank canvas for you to personalise—whether you prefer understated elegance or bold, creative décor.
At its heart hangs a striking chandelier crafted from an old wooden ladder salvaged from the Mill, while the exposed wooden beams provide plenty of opportunities to add your own decorative touches. As our largest indoor space, the barn comfortably seats up to 100 guests for a relaxed and memorable wedding feast and the best party space for your evening celebration.
The Hay Barn is also available for your ceremony, whether as your first choice or as a seamless backup plan in case of unpredictable weather—ensuring your day is magical, come rain or shine.
THE COURTYARD is nestled at the heart of Folkerton Mill and is a breathtaking open-air space surrounded by the charm of historic buildings, creating an intimate, village-like feel. By day, the Courtyard bathes in natural sunlight, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere—perfect for a relaxed drinks reception, an alfresco dining experience, or simply a place for guests to gather and celebrate. As the sun sets, the Courtyard transforms into a magical wonderland. The soft glow of festoon lights twinkles overhead, casting a romantic, golden hue over the evening celebrations.
THE GRAIN MILL BAR is steeped in history and full of character, The Grain Mill is one of the best-preserved examples of its kind in the area. We've carefully maintained its original features, creating a truly unique space that blends heritage with versatility. The whitewashed stone walls offer a stunning blank canvas, allowing you to style the space as much—or as little—as you wish to reflect your personal vision.
Guests are wowed as they step back in time and experience our beautifully handcrafted bar. It is perfectly built around the original mill machinery and offers an array of locally sourced delicious drinks. The iconic water wheel cogs remain visible behind the bar, adding a striking and authentic touch to your festivities. THE FIRE PITS are nestled just outside the Hay Barn, our fire pit seating area is one of the most magical spots at Folkerton Mill.
